This cultivar selected by Western Farms Seed is unique in a few ways. The breed has been fully stabilized, resulting in a strong, stable blending of characteristics from both parent genetics. The expression of the phenotype is unique in that it is a vigorous growing plant with short internodes, resulting in a fast-growing, stocky plant. The terpene profiles offer another strong differentiator, and, at maturity, the flower is sweetly aromatic.
Wife F1 has shown increased resistance to powdery mildew, exhibits hardiness against many pests and frost, and can be grown in various growing conditions from high alpine environments to hot deserts and everything in between.

This cultivar was bred by Western Farms Seed for its symmetrical growth pattern. It offers evenly spaced laterals and naturally grows vertically with stacking internodes atop each shoot. When planted outdoors, Big Red will grow in even rows with little to no differentiation between plants, growing aggressively yet evenly throughout the field. Its deep green foliage and dense flower make it an appealing and impressive plant. When grown in certain environments, the leaves will darken to an almost purplish-black color covered in trichomes.
Big Red has a wonderful terpene profile providing a strong yet pleasant aroma. The flower will mature faster than other cultivars, producing trichomes early in the flowering stage. This cultivar has also shown to be highly frost resistant and continues to develop even after the first soft freeze of the season.
